Use the Grid as a big Battery draw from it if you need additional energy and send to it when you have an excess from your System:

Solar Panels are used to generate electricity. The power is then fed back to Synergy (the Grid) to offset your usage and thus reduce your electricity bill

The Benefits

  • Generating your own electricity will help reduce your bills
  • The Federal Government's, Solar Homes and Communities Plan (SHCP), formally the PVRP, along with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) will help you save money.
  • Produces clean electricity and reduce the impact of pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Add value to your home.
  • Installing a solar power system helps you to meet energy requirements for new homes (eg. NSW BASIX, 5 star rating systems)

SHCP Rebate Scheme - SUPERCEEDED by SOLAR CREDITS Program

As you may be aware, the Federal Government runs a rebate scheme for the installation of photovoltaics – solar modules – called the SOLAR HOMES and COMMUNITIES PLAN. The program is managed in NSW by the NSW Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability (DEUS), in Victoria by SEAV, in Queensland by the EPA, and the respective bodies in other states and territories. The program received additional funding under the latest federal budget (2007-08). The previous rebate of $4.00 per watt installed, up to a maximum of $4,000, has now been doubled to $8 per watt, up to a maximum of $8000. A means test has recently been applied to this rebate, to be eligible to receive it now you must have a household taxable income of less than $100,000.
